As a child I spent many weekends on my grandparents farm in southern Ohio. I experienced first-hand the bond we so quickly form with animals and I began developing a fondness for taking care of animals quite early. I graduated Vet School in 2012, completing my first several years of academic training at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. I finished my final year of clinical studies and surgical training at The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
In 2012, I began my career at All Creatures Animal Clinic and it has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. Over time, my professional strengths and interests emerged in the shape of senior medicine, advanced pain management, and dentistry. I have been fortunate to attend extensive training in both canine and feline dentistry, advanced dental extraction and am also certified in Companion Animal Pain Management and Laser Therapy. I have completed multiple courses in advanced abdominal ultrasound and gastrointestinal endoscopy with both the NAVC Institute and The University of Florida.
I am a proud member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Practitioners (IVAPP), The American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA), The Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Christian Veterinary Missions Group (CVM), K9s for Warriors and our local Polk County Ridge Veterinary Society. I am an active volunteer and supporter for The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Polk County Veterans Council and Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
In 2019, our hospital founder and visionary, Dr. William Latter, generously nominated me to serve as our teams’ Medical Director. My professional commitment to my craft is to cultivate and continue refining Dr. Latter’s vision of progressive medical care, a humanistic team culture and patient-centered servanthood. I have undergone extensive training and hold certifications in Hospital Leadership, Mentorship & Team Development, Workplace Well-Being, Women’s Leadership, Team Culture and ‘The Health of Healers.’ In 2023, I was nominated for the National Veterinary Medical Advisory Board and am currently a nominee for the 2024 American Animal Hospital Association’s Executive Board of Directors.
The All Creatures team collectively received the National Veterinary Divisional Teamwork Award for outstanding display of Team Culture and Collaboration. Most recently, our team received the highly distinguished Stan Creighton Founders Award for 2024. The Founders award is in recognition of our teams’ service, centered on sharing knowledge and expertise, the direct and positive impact our team has on living out our core values and mission, for setting examples for other hospitals and (more broadly) for setting the standard of veterinary excellence for the industry at large.
In my personal time I love cooking with my husband, Jarrid, playing with my two children, Jordan and Julianna, taking road trips with my parents and spending time with my church family. I enjoy kayaking the Florida springs, gardening and hiking the National Parks. Our family has three dogs, one cat, a bearded dragon, one tortoise and three chickens.
